Its a girl.....

Recently I was thinking thinking of a labor and delivery moment, I thought I would share. I will spare you my birth story details except for one. After only 10 hours of labor (and a little bit of pushing), the nurse exclaimed, " that a girl!" "Its a girl", I cried (in happiness). "No. You're doing wonderful - THAT A GIRL!!" She cheered in a cheer-leader sort of way.

A few minutes later the doctor proclaimed, "its a boy!"

In only a few minutes, I went from thinking my second baby was a girl to finding out HE was a boy. Was I disappointed? Maybe for a split second. That was until I saw him for the very first time. Now I couldn't imagine my life any other way.

Oh, I don't know if I would have been mad at the nurse or what. I remember having my second child wanting a girl sooooo badly. We had to have a c-section and when she was delivered the dr said, it's a girl, and all I could keep saying was are you kidding? Are you sure? Is it really a girl. I was so happy, but just could not believe it. We had no girl names picked, or anything. I was afraid I would not get a girl and I didn't want to be disappointed, so I just convinced myself it was a boy and there! Isn't life funny?!

Too funny! I know what you mean - once they're there, they are perfect in every way. They simply couldn't be different.

Oh...Gosh...

That would have been confusing...

And what a sweet, handsome boy he's growing up to be.

We were sure our second was a boy, for some reason and when she was a girl, we had the split seond disappointment too, but then we saw her and it didn't matter at all! That was a bad thing to hear wrong though!

I have the EXACT same experience! I'd known already he was a boy, so when I hear'd "That's a girl" as I was pushing, I said "No, it's a BOY!" almost angrily. The doc giggled. The next two were girls, so I have 2 of each now. Thanks for stopping by my site! Now I get to read yours!!

I couldn't even imagine. Of course I didn't know what my first baby was for 10 minutes and the whole time I was pregnant I thought it was a boy. So I was still a bit surprised to see I had a daughter!

HAHAHA! When we had our second child, my husband saw the ubilical cord coming between our baby's legs and exclaimed "It's a boy!" and the doctor looks at him and goes "No, it is a GIRL!"

LMAO We already had a boy and I wanted a girl!

I think I would've been confused too. I knew what we were having. Though I was so sure it was a boy and at the ultrasound she said it looks like a girl. She(my daughter) must have known we could only agree on a girl name.

My best friend is going to a mother/daughter banquet tonight, and for some reason it made me think of this post. I love my son so much, but every now and then I do think about a girl of course.

I was so sure my second would be a girl. When everyone shouted, "It's a boy!" I was actually very angry, until, like you, they layed him on my chest and I looked into his eyes. It was love at first sight.
